Mississauga’s retail scene is a great one, but that doesn’t mean that the city doesn’t benefit when new stores–particularly standalone stores–set up shop in the area.

Younger residents and their parents might be happy to hear that Mastermind Toys, Canada’s largest speciality toy retailer, recently announced that it opened its 67th location.

Located in the bustling and easily accessible Clarkson Crossing Centre (970 Southdown Rd.), the new Mastermind Toys store will replace the brand’s former Erin Mills Parkway location that closed in March 2018.

Mastermind also operates another standalone location in the Hurontario and Eglinton Ave W. The company also operates stores in Oakville, Milton and Burlington.

“We have been actively searching for the right site in South Mississauga for a very long time and finally found the perfect spot at Clarkson Crossing Centre,” said Jon Levy, chief merchant, co-founder and CEO, Mastermind Toys.

“By opening in this highly visible location, we are well positioned to serve all of our Mississauga customers with the best selection of hand-picked, carefully curated toys, games and books in a colourful, energetic and friendly shopping environment.”

The newly constructed store spans 3,670 square feet.

If you shop at Mastermind Toys regularly, you should note that the brand offers a free customer loyalty program that is easy to join by clicking here. Perks include free in-store gift-wrapping and loot-bag assembly; sneak previews and early alerts about new and limited-edition items; access to members-only promotions and events. It also offers customized offers and personalized toy recommendations.

Perks members will also receive surprise gifts and rewards throughout the year to mark milestones like birthdays and holidays.

Mastermind Toys boasts a curated selection of more than 10,000 specialty toys, games and books, including first-to-market and exclusive items at a variety of price points. Some popular items include lifelike Hansa plush animals, fashionable Our Generation dolls, the Moonlite Storytime Projector, Bruder and Siku vehicles, Meccano, Quercetti marble runs, Magformers building toys, and Creativity for Kids craft kit and more.

The Grand Opening Party will take place May 2-5. Customers who attend can enjoy special promotions, treats, loot bags and a visit from Paw Patrol’s Chase.
