A new restaurant specializing in a popular street food from India is coming to Milton.

My Dosa Place/My Roti Place is holding its grand opening Sunday, June 4, at 220 Main St., former home of Rosati Lounge.

Dosas are crispy and crepe-like, famous for its simple ingredients and savoury, slightly bitter flavor.

The grand opening will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and there will be several menu items available in-store only for $4.99, including butter chicken roti, chicken curry roti, paneer butter masala, channa masala roti, plain dosa and masala dosa.

The Milton location joins existing ones in Oakville and Burlington, as well as several in Toronto, as the company continues its aggressive expansion campaign.

There are a wide variety of other options available on the regular menu including samosas, paneer, vada, idli, idiyappam, uthappam, and rice dishes.

Dosas are available in more than a dozen varieties, including chicken, lamp, shrimp, cheese, ghee butter, masala and more.

Customers will be able to build their own rotis and pick from a variety of biryani.

Beverages include Indian cool drinks like Limca, Thums Up and Maaza, chilled rose milk, fresh mango lassi, savoury madras butter milk, masala chai and southern Indian filter coffee.

For that sweet treat to finish things up there are gulab jamun, pistachio kulfi and mango pistachio cheesecake.
