Several frozen pastry products sold in Ontario and other parts of Canada have been recalled due to possible contamination with Salmonella, a bacteria that can cause serious illness.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued the recall for products sold under the Sweet Cream and D. Effe T. brands. The affected pastries were distributed in Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Quebec, and may have also reached other provinces and territories.
The recalled products include:
• Apollini Mignon / Mini Lobster Tail (7 kg)
• Apollo K2 / Big Lobster Tail (75 x 110 g)
• Sfogliata Napoli / Big Sfoglia Napoli (75 x 125 g)
• Mini Sfogliatella / Mini Sfogliatelle (8 kg, 200 x 40 g)
• Mini Sfogliatella Cioccolato / Mini Chocolate Sfogliatele (8 kg, 200 x 40 g)
These items may have been sold clerk-served or repackaged into smaller containers, sometimes without the original label, brand name, or lot number. The affected lot numbers range from 24183 to 25013.

The CFIA says the recall was triggered as part of an investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak. At least one reported illness may be linked to these products.
Salmonella infection can cause symptoms such as fever, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. It can be particularly dangerous for children, seniors, pregnant people, and those with weakened immune systems.
Consumers are advised not to consume the recalled products and to return them to the place of purchase or dispose of them safely. If you believe you became ill after eating one of the recalled items, contact a healthcare provider.
