A popular Oakville restaurant known for its wine, food and culture has been forced to close its doors.

The Wine Bar, located at 100 Bronte Rd., Unit 9, has had to shut down after the landlord decided to “part ways” with them.

Owner Devon Masciangelo is asking customers to stay tuned to see what’s next.

“I wish to give thanks to all of you for the brilliant and memorable moments we shared together at this location, and to let you know that it is time to move onto a more exciting one,” Masciangelo said in a statement on The Wine Bar’s website. “While not in our plans to leave so soon, our landlord decided to part ways earlier than desirable.

“But the physical place alone does not make “The Wine Bar.” We all do. We thrived through the ups and downs of Covid and the past difficult years because of you, our cherished customers, and your willingness to make our shared experiences special. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for your love, dedication and memories, and we look forward to share new stories soon.”

Masciangelo is asking his customers to keep tabs on social media at @THEWINEBAROAKVILLE to get the news of where and what they will be doing next.

The local restaurant scored an impressive 4.8 out of five scoring on OpenTable, with many customers raving about the food and service.

” Fabulous evening at The Wine Bar with acoustic live music and spectacular wines and cheeses,” said Jen B. from Toronto. “We will be back!”

Down on Bronte Harbour, the restaurant was a popular stop on a warm summer night.

“Enjoyed our visit tremendously – the king crab was absolutely decadent, as was the rest of the food and wine,” said Tricia L.
