Popular musical set to hit Rose Theatre in Brampton

A popular musical is set to hit the Rose Theatre in Brampton next year.

Kinky Boots, which is set to hit the theatre in the spring, is mainly inspired by actual events and is based on the 2005 British film Kinky Boots, written by Geoff Deane and Tim Firth.

The musical is known for featuring music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper, a book by Harvey Fierstein and providing an evening “filled with glitter, glam and a whole lot of sole”.

It is also the winner of every Best Musical Award which includes the Tony Award, the Grammy and London’s Olivier Award.

The musical tells the tale of Charlie Price, who inherited a shoe factory from his father before forming an unlikely partnership with cabaret performer and drag queen Lola to produce high-heeled boots.

Along the way, the two discover that while they initially thought they had nothing in common, they end up having more in common than they thought.

The show will hit the Rose Theatre from Mar. 30-31 and Apr. 1-2, 2023.

Tickets are on sale now and range from $20 to $39.
