A popular waterfront park playground in Mississauga is set to close for six weeks to allow for a complete equipment replacement and safety resurfacing.

A.E. Crookes Park is located at 140 Lakefront Promenade and contains a playground with swings, a splash pad, and a baseball field.

The closure comes in the middle of the summer, a peak time for use for the playground. The project will take six weeks and completion is predicted for late August 2022.

The area will receive engineered mulch as part of the safety resurfacing. There will be an accessible ramp added, as well as new benches and connections to park trails.

The neighbouring splash pad at A.E. Crookes Park remains open during the playground replacement.

Alternate parks are listed as the Lakefront Promenade Park, approximately 450m from A.E. Crookes, as well as the Green Village at 780 Village Green Blvd.
