Mississaugans don’t have many options when it comes to TV providers. However, that may soon change as a new player is throwing its hat into the ring.

TekSavvy recently announced the launch of its new IPTV service; TekSavvy TV, which launched province-wide on Monday (July 15).

IPTV uses the internet to stream channels via an app rather than a traditional cable box.

The new service offers up to 115 HD channels of sports, movies, series, and kids content, including video-on-demand content from specific channels.

“We’re excited to roll out TekSavvy TV to the rest of the province,” said Marc Gaudrault, the CEO of TekSavvy and President of Hastings Cable Vision. “Our customers have told us that they want a simple, high-quality TV experience at a fair price. We are creating an innovative TV service at a price that Canadians deserve has been our focus for the past three years. Offering TekSavvy TV across Ontario is the next step in our product’s evolution. We look forward to adding more advanced features, more choice, and more channels that customers want.”

The service is currently available as an app for Apple TV, Android TV, and Amazon Fire TV devices. The app is also available for smartphones so you can watch on the go.

As with all TV services, prices will vary based on the number of channels included in a bundle.
