A much-loved hot chicken joint in Toronto and Mississauga will soon open its first location in Brampton.
Founded in 2011, THG’s Hot Chicken was started as a food truck by Chef Aleem Sye in Scarborough and has since grown into a brick-and-mortar business with locations in Mississauga and Waterloo.

Specializing in hot chicken sandwiches, wings, tenders and more, the menu includes the Nashville Hot Slider (cheese, pickles, slaw and Comeback Sauce), the Spicy Chicken Deluxe (cheese, pickles, jalapeno peppers and habanero mayo), and Dirty Bird Fries (hot fries and cheese sauce topped with 2 tenders and comeback sauce).
There’s also the Dirty Mac and Cheese, which is made with six different types of cheese and comes with either wings, shrimp or chicken tenders.
Syed is a classically-trained chef who studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Ottawa before making rounds at some of Toronto’s top fine-dining restaurants, according to the THG’s Hot Chicken website.
In 2008, while working under Michael Bonacini at the highly-regarded restaurant Canoe, Syed experienced an accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down.
No official opening date for the new Brampton location has been released, but THG’s Hot Chicken says it plans to open soon at Unit 15 – 13 Fisherman Drive. The restaurant will be open on Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m., and Friday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m.
THG’s is also planning to open new locations in London later this year, and in Milton in 2026.
