A restaurant that’s gained tons of popularity in Hamilton is now planning to open a brand new location in a brand new place: Burlington.
The Burnt Tongue has become well known in the Hamilton area for its tasty soups, and there are now four locations of the restaurant in the region.
Locations of The Burnt Tongue in Hamilton can be found at 10 Cannon St. E., 182 Locke St. S., 1019 King St. W. in Westdale, and at 11 King St. W. in Dundas.
Now, the soup restaurant is opening a new location outside of Hamilton for the first time in the city of Burlington.
The menu at The Burnt Tongue centres around a selection of soups that changes seasonally, but the restaurant also serves hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, salads, burgers, fries and desserts.
The soups on deck at The Burnt Tongue at any given time might includes options such as creamy tomato and tortellini, roasted garlic potato leek, peanut chicken, chickpea and cauliflower korma, loaded dill pickle, and watercress with Yukon gold potato.
When it comes to the hot sandwiches, of course you’re going to want a grilled cheese to dip into your soup, and there are a wide range of them available at The Burnt Tongue. Varieties include French onion, tomato basil pesto and Buffalo chicken. The restaurant even serves a birria grilled cheese.
The new Burlington location of The Burnt Tongue should have items that are exclusive to that specific store, and staff tells INsauga.com that the team has been looking forward to opening a Burlington location for years.
A post on social media announcing the opening of the new Burlington location of The Burnt Tongue has gotten almost 2,000 likes on Instagram and nearly 300 comments from people who are super excited to see the soup restaurant opening a shop in that area. One person asked for another new location to open where they’d be able to access it easily in Kitchener.
The staff member tells INsauga.com that the Burnt Tongue team is hoping to open even more locations further down the road, which could even include a location in Toronto.
“We absolutely hope to open in Toronto down the road. This Burlington location is a big step in that direction,” says the staff member. “Once things are up and running smoothly, we expect to start looking for additional locations.”
The Burnt Tongue in Burlington at 491 Appleby Line should be opening around early June.
