A popular food festival that attracted over 125,000 visitors over the course of its last eight-week run is returning to a number of GTA cities, including Mississauga, Brampton, Milton and Ajax.

Night Market Toronto (NMTO) recently announced that its Halal Food Tour will kick off in Mississauga at Square One on May 12 and wrap up on June 18 in Toronto.

The event, which will only serve hand-slaughtered halal meat and poultry from Meatheads, was designed to give the Muslim community a food-centric experience that comes with peace of mind. The festival will take place in different cities over six weekends and will also be pork and alcohol-free.

The festival will visit the following locations:

  • May 12-14: Mississauga–Square One Shopping Centre’s P3 parking lot
  • May 19-21: Milton–Milton Go Station
  • May 26 – 28: London–Dundas Place
  • June 2 – 4: Ajax–Ajax Go Station
  • June 9-11: Brampton–Bramalea Go Station
  • June 17-18: Toronto–Harbourfront Centre

Along with food, guests will also get to enjoy live performances.

“Receiving international recognition for their halal tour last year, NMTO is only planning to create a bigger impact within the community with more vendors, rides, and new programs for everyone to enjoy,” NMTO said in a news release.

The festival will run from 4 pm to 12 am on Fridays, 2 pm to 12 am on Saturdays, and 2 pm to 10 pm on Sundays.
