A Caribbean restaurant that’s become very popular with people in Barrie has just opened the doors to its first-ever Toronto location.
Carib Dish has been serving up delicious food inspired by Caribbean cuisine traditions in Barrie, and now they’ve brought all that goodness to Toronto and the love is real.
Food fans showed up in huge numbers for the opening of the Toronto location, lining up down the block.
Some of the restaurant’s most well-known dishes include jerk chicken, oxtail, goat and roti, as well as other Caribbean dishes that are popular among diners.
Carib Dish also serves up a lot of other creative items that can’t necessarily be found at just any other average Caribbean restaurant.
The restaurant also serves jerk chicken n’ waffles, barbecue ribs, coconut salmon, jerk chicken quesadillas, oxtail poutine and even jerk chicken salad if you’re looking to keep it a little lighter.
The restaurant has previously been operating solely in Barrie at 490 Mapleview Dr. W.
“Our dishes are inspired by the vibrant and diverse cultures of the Caribbean, featuring flavours from Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, Barbados, St. Vincent, and beyond,” reads the official website for Carib Dish.
“Our passion for cooking began in the Caribbean, where we were raised on the rich and spicy flavors of the region. We have honed our skills over the years.”
The new Carib Dish location is in the St. Clair West neighbourhood, which is already known for its diverse selection of restaurants, including many great Caribbean eateries.
A pinned post on the restaurant’s Instagram page about the opening of the new Toronto location has over 900 likes and many comments from people who are excited to see the restaurant arrive in the city.
“Congratulations!” someone wrote on Instagram in a comment. “We go to the restaurant in Barrie! You all did it!”
