A popular Canadian rock band is hitting the stage in Milton later this year.

Tom Cochrane, a Canadian singer, songwriter and musician, is best known for being the frontman of the band Red Rider.

On Oct. 2, they will be hitting the stage at the FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton.

Prior to achieving international success, Cochrane was a folk-based singer and songwriter who played coffeehouses in Toronto’s Yorkville scene in the early ’70s.

Since then, Red Rider (later known as Tom Cochrane & Red Rider) has sold over six million copies worldwide with the breakthrough 1991 album Mad Mad World and its hit Life Is A Highway.

Cochrane is also the recipient of eight Juno Awards, multiple songwriter awards from SOCAN, CAPAC and ASCAP and is a GRAMMY nominee, a member of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and the Canadian Music Industry Hall Of Fame.

Tickets for the show in Milton are on sale now for $105.
