A new bakery is headed to Square One in Mississauga this winter, which means you can shop while enjoying the fragrance of freshly baked breads and sweets.

Saint Germain Bakery specializes in cakes for all occasions with classic flavours such as chocolate and vanilla. But if you’re on the daring side, you might want to check out their exotic flavoured desserts such as pistachio, rose, mango, durian and chestnut.

Among sweets, the shop also has a huge selection of breads which include double baked croissants, pork buns, green bean pies and pecan tarts.

According to the company’s website, the bakery was founded in 1986 and since then pastry chefs from around the world passed their baking techniques to the culinary artists working at Saint Germain’s Canadian flagships.

“On choosing ingredients, our belief is in natural freshness. We take wholesome herbs: vanilla from the complete bean pod, orange juice or lemon grinds from the whole fruit. There is no place for artificial essence,” the statement reads.

The bakery has officially set up signage in the shopping centre near the Simons store. Although there is no exact grand opening date, the shop hints that it will be opening its doors sometime during the winter season.
