Arson is suspected after police discovered a detached pool house engulfed in flames and a business and residence had smashed windows and property damage in east Hamilton today (June 22).

Hamilton police are investigating the incident on the property as “targeted,” said spokesperson Indy Bharaj. They are at the scene collecting evidence.

Bharaj said no one was injured in the incident.

Police responded to a fire at the property on Ridge Road, between Fifth Road E. and Sixth Road E., shortly after 4:30 a.m.

Just before 11 this morning, police announced on Twitter that they had deployed the Remotely Piloted Aircraft System, or drones, to the area to assist them with the arson investigation.

Police said they have concluded the drone part of the investigation.
