Police work to put Pickering ‘Snow Genie’ fraudster back in the bottle

A search is underway for the suspect behind “Snow Genie” a fraudulent snow removal service which has taken cash deposits but has not delivered on wishes for clear driveways.

An unidentified man claiming to represent “Snow Genie Inc,” purportedly a snow removal service, went door to door in Pickering and Ajax throughout December and January.

The man collected deposits with the promise to remove snow when it fell, according to Durham Regional Police. However, neither he nor anybody from the company could be reached after the victims forked over their cash.

Police describe the suspect as a Middle Eastern man between 25 and 30 years old. He gave the victims the name “Amir Ahmed,” which may be a pseudonym.
