A “suspicious” fire to a Niagara Falls house has the police asking the local community to offer up any information or video recordings.

Police responded to a fire call, as did the Niagara Falls Fire Department, on Feb. 24 at 2:30 am at a house on Ailanthus Ave. south of Dunn St.

While the fire department eventually put it out, some $400,000 in damages was done first.

Given the suspicious nature of the fire, which usually mean arson, both the police and the Ontario Fire Marshal are investigating the blaze and are calling out for public help.

“Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity on Ailanthus Avenue or in the surrounding area are being asked to contact detectives,” said the police.

In addition, area residents with CCTV are being asked to review their surveillance footage and report any relevant information.

To contact the lead detective dial (905) 688-4111, option 3, extension 1007730.
