Durham Police continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward in an investigation of an armed robbery investigation that took place in Pickering last December.

West Division officers responded to armed robbery call at the Meridian Credit Union on Kingston Road at 7 p.m. on December 8.

Two men, both armed with handguns, entered the bank and made a demand for cash from the employees, police say. The suspects then forced the employees into the vault and took a quantity of cash before fleeing the scene.

Meridian Credit Union was previously offering a $15,000 reward; they have now bumped that reward to $30,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest of the suspects involved. The credit union said the reward increase is a further step taken to help protect employees and credit union members.
