UPDATE: No armed suspect found in Thorold

UPDATE: Niagara Police just tweeted: “Please be advised that officers on scene have determined that the reports of an armed person in The Lofts was unfounded. No gun was located by our officers. The previous lockdown has been lifted. Our officers will be clearing the area.”

While Niagara Police hasn’t given any specific details just yet, they have cordoned off an area in Thorold today (September 12) at 3:30 pm, saying there were “reports of a possible armed person.”

Police tweeted that the effected area in Thorold was at The Lofts located at Schmon Parkway.

“Out of an abundance of caution, this area has been locked down for further investigation.”
