Police seize over $400,000 in drugs and a loaded gun, 2 Mississauga residents charged

More than $400,000 in drugs and a loaded gun were seized in a bust involving two people from Mississauga.

The seizure was part of a drug trafficking investigation, dubbed Project Hustle, that started in March, Peel Regional Police said in a press release today (Aug. 15).

Officers from the Peel Regional Police Specialized Enforcement Bureau searched numerous properties looking into drug trafficking of narcotics in the Region of Peel and across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Police seized Methyl​enedioxy​methamphetamine (MDMA), commonly known as ecstasy.

On Wednesday, Aug. 9,  2023, police searched six residences across the GTA, resulting in over $400,000 worth of drugs seized along with a loaded 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun.

Two Mississauga residents face charges in connection to the investigation.

Justin Nguyen, a 29-year-old man from Mississauga is charged with possession of property obtained by crime; possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm; knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm; possession of firearm contrary to order; possession of a prohibited device or ammunition; 10 counts of trafficking in a controlled substance; and 10 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Sajan Pathmanathan, a 32-year-old man from Mississauga, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Vincent Nguyen, a 27-year-old man from Etobicoke;  Jordan Hoivik, a 20-year-old man from Richmond Hill; and Stevin Thai, a 20-year-old man from Richmond Hill also face charges.
