Police seeking witnesses of hit-and-run that occurred in Brampton over weekend

Peel Regional Police is investigating a hit-and-run that occurred over the weekend in Brampton.

On Sunday (September 26), a 66-year-old woman was crossing the street at the intersection of James Potter Road and Ashby Field Road when she was hit by a car.

The driver stopped briefly, before fleeing the scene without attempting to help the woman, who was taken to a nearby trauma centre with serious injuries.

The driver is described as a Black man, approximately 25 years old, roughly 6′ tall, with a medium build. He was wearing dark-coloured clothing, and he was driving a dark-coloured SUV.

Anyone who saw the incident, especially anyone with dashcam footage, is urged to contact investigators with the Major Collision Bureau at  905-453–2121, extension 3710.
