Police seeking public’s assistance in Oakville assault investigation

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is seeking the public’s assistance with the investigation of an assault with a weapon that occurred in the area of Bond Street and Chisholm Street in Oakville.

According to police, on March 31, 2021, at approximately 6:50 p.m., a woman was walking in the area when she was approached by two males wearing dark clothing and COVID masks.

Police say one of the males grabbed her by the hands, while the second male was holding a knife.

The male suspects fled the area on foot after the victim screamed, police say.

According to police, there was no attempt made to take any of the victim’s belongings and the physical injuries suffered by the victim were minor in nature.

Police are currently seeking assistance from anyone that was in the area between 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on March 31, 2021.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Detective Ron Strauch at the 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905 825-4747 ext. 2255.

Police say they are also interested in any dashcam footage residents may have of the area during the time of the incident.
