Police searching for suspect vehicle in Oakville hit-and-run

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is seeking the public’s assistance with an investigation after a hit-and-run collision occurred in Oakville.

Police say on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, between 5:00 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. a male victim and his dog were struck by a vehicle while crossing the street at the intersection of Taunton Rd. and Oak Park Blvd. in Oakville.

According to police, the vehicle did not stop at the scene and has not been located.

Police say the male suffered injuries that were treated in the hospital and the dog was also injured and fled from the scene. The dog has since been located and returned to its owner.

According to police, the suspect was driving a white SUV and is described as a male between 35 to 45 years of age with an unshaven beard.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage in the area of the collision between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. on December 21, 2022, to contact the police.
