Police search for suspect in Hamilton sexual assault

The Hamilton Police Service is searching for a man suspected of sexual assault in the city’s downtown core.
The incident occurred on Mar. 12, 2022, shortly before 1 p.m.
Police say an individual was sexually assaulted in the area of Main and Bay streets before the suspect fled eastbound on Main in a dark-coloured vehicle.
The suspect is described as a white, 5-foot-7 male between the ages of 45 and 55. He has grey and dark coloured hair that is thinning at the top. He also has goatee-style facial hair.
Police say at the time of the offence, the suspect was wearing dark pants, dark New Balance running shoes, and a New Balance zip-up jacket.
“Hamilton Police want all survivors of sexual violence to know that we believe them and we will respect their choice when and how they report an incident,” issued the service.
