Police say fatal stabbing suspect might live near Niagara Falls intersection

Police have now (Sept. 7), released a clearer image of the suspect, wanted in connection with a fatal stabbing that took place in Niagara Falls.
Niagara police said that the suspect’s last known location was the Morrison Street and 1st Avenue area, where he might reside.
According to police, the suspect was involved in a stabbing incident on Victoria Avenue between Morrison Street and Simcoe Street in Niagara Falls just before 3 a.m. on Sept. 6.
Police believe the stabbing escalated from a fight between a group of people.
The victim was stabbed with a knife during the fight and left on the ground, police said. The victim was treated at the scene and transported to a nearby hospital for further care but later died of his injuries.
Police have released photos of the man wanted in connection with the second-degree murder.
The man may have sustained a head injury during the interaction with the victim, police said. Police also say the man might have an injured hand.
At the request of the victim’s family, no information regarding the deceased will be released by police.
The suspect is encouraged to contact legal counsel and make arrangements to surrender himself into police custody, police said.

Residents and business owners are also encouraged to review any dash cam, closed circuit camera or doorbell camera footage for suspicious activity between the hours of 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Sept. 6.
