Peel Regional Police are dealing with a weapons call near a south Mississauga high school this afternoon (April 27).

According to a tweet from Peel police, officers have responded to a weapons dangerous call in the area of Hurontario St. and Eaglewood Blvd., just south of Port Credit Secondary School.

The call was received just around the noon hour.

Police say there are “reports of students from a local school” possibly involved in a disturbance at that location.

The area is residential with a couple of small strip plazas at that intersection.

Police didn’t say exactly where the incident took place, nor did they say which school the students are believed to be from, but Port Credit Secondary is located just a couple of blocks north.

Mentor College is nearby as well.

Police didn’t say what type of weapon or weapons are believed to be involved.

Update: Police are still investigating the incident, but say they have not found “any evidence of a criminal offence.”
