Today (Sept 7), detectives were able to obtain clear images of the individual wanted for the fatal stabbing and are asking the public’s assistance in locating him.

The victim was stabbed on Victoria Avenue between Morrison Street and Simcoe Street, in Niagara Falls just before 3 a.m. on Sept. 6, Niagara Regional Police said.

Police believe the stabbing escalated from a fight between a group of people.

The victim was stabbed with a knife during the fight and left on the ground, police said. The victim was treated at the scene and transported to a nearby hospital for further care but sadly he later died from the injury.

Police have released photos of a man wanted in connection with the second-degree murder.

The man may have sustained a head injury during the interaction with the victim, police said.

The man is encouraged to contact legal counsel and make arrangements to surrender himself into police custody, police said.

Anyone who believes they know the identity of the man should contact the lead homicide detective at 905-688-4111, option 3, extension #1009124.
