An Oshawa man has been charged with child pornography possession after a police raid allegedly discovered the material in his home.

The Durham Regional Police Internet Safety and Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) raided a home on Bond St. and McMillan Dr. back in March. During the raid, they found multiple electronic devices which were seized and analyzed. Police did not specify how many devices they seized or how many contained child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Following the analysis, Gary Jeffries, 32 of Oshawa, was arrested on Jun. 7. He’s charged with possession of CSAM, accessing CSAM, and breaching an order from a previous sex crime conviction. The charges have not been proven in court.

Anyone with information pertinent to the investigation can call ICE Unit D/Cst. Pogson at 905-579-1520 x 5544 or Durham Regional Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
