Police raid in Brampton leads to drug, firearm charges

A man and a woman in Brampton each face a string of drugs and firearm charges, following a police raid where a gun, ammunition, crack cocaine, cannabis and fentanyl were seized.

The Peel Regional police says its investigators conducted a CDSA (controlled drug and substance act) search warrant at a home in the area of Kennedy Road South and Glidden Road in Brampton on Wednesday. They located the following itemes.

As a result of the search warrant, the following items were located and seized:

  • 9-millimeter Glock pistion, Model 26 Gen 4
  • Ammunition
  • Quantities of cash, cannabis, crack cocaine and fentanyl

Bejamin Todd, 25, of Brampton, had a bail hearing in a Brampton court on Wednesday to answer to the following alleged offences:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of prohibited or restricted weapon
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
  • Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (three counts)

Amanda Polera, 27, of Brampton a 27-year-old female from Brampton is charged with following alleged offences:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of prohibited or restricted weapon
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
  • Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (three counts)

Polera had a bail hearing in Brampton court on Thursday.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.
