After further investigation, the Niagara Police believe that a 28-year-old man who was shot Saturday (Sept. 30) morning in Niagara Falls knew his assailant, calling it a “targeted incident.”
Police were on the scene when the man knocked on the door of a random Chippawa Parkway house at 7:25 a.m., waking up the homeowner and telling him he had been shot.
Niagara EMS arrived on the scene and shuttled him to an out-of-town hospital where he remains with non-life-threatening injuries.
“Investigation thus far has led detectives to believe this to be a targeted incident and there is no known threat to public safety,” police said in a release.
That being said, the police had asked residents on the Chippawa Parkway between Daly St. and Norton St. “to review their surveillance footage and contact the lead detective by dialing 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009408 with any relevant information.”
