Police make arrest in downtown Hamilton stabbing investigation

Hamilton police made an arrest in the investigation of a downtown stabbing Tuesday (Nov. 2) night.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of John and Rebecca streets. They found a man in his 40s suffering from “injuries consistent with a stabbing.”

The victim is expected to recover.

A 22-year-old Hamilton man was arrested in connection with the incident. He is charged with assault with a weapon.

Police say the suspect’s bail was opposed.

Individuals and businesses with video surveillance systems in the area are being asked by police to check the footage.
