Niagara Police are still trying to figure out what caused a single vehicle death in Niagara-on-the-Lake last week.

Police and the Niagara EMS were called to the scene  on Queenston Road between Concession Road 5 and Concession Road 6 on April 14 at 9:55 pm.

When they got there, they found a black Ford F-150 pickup truck in the ditch. They quickly discovered that the westbound truck had gone off the road, into the ditch before it hit a concrete culvert.

The 42-year-old male driver from Niagara-on-the-Lake was alone in the truck and pronounced deceased at the scene.  His identity is not being released.

Police in the Collision Reconstruction Unit are hoping to talk to people who may have been in the area at the time of the accident.

They’re also asking residents with CCTV footage that captures Queenston Road and motorists who were in the area with an operational dash-camera to review their footage and contact the lead detective at 905-688-4111, option 4, badge #9206 with any relevant information.
