Police looking for second vehicle in Pickering shooting

Durham Police are searching for a second suspect vehicle and its occupants following a shooting incident in Pickering Sunday afternoon.

Investigators are looking for a white Nissan Rogue with Ontario licence plate CKBZ274. This vehicle was reported as stolen from Toronto and police are warning residents that f you see this car do not approach but to call 9-1-1 as the occupants are considered armed and dangerous.

West Division officers were sent to a shooting call on Spruce Hill Road at 4 p.m. Sunday and arrived to find shell casings, but no suspects. Police were subsequently able to conduct a traffic stop of a black Volkswagen and the driver was arrested without incident.

Police seized cannabis, a handgun and ammunition. There were no reported injuries.

A second suspect vehicle, the white Nissan Rogue, was observed at the scene at the time of the shooting.

Josiah French, 21, of Toronto has been charged with 11 offences which include unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, tampering with serial number, possess illicit cannabis; and possess for the purpose of selling.

He was held for a bail hearing.
