This past weekend, Halton police located a hand grenade at the Halton Waste Management site in Milton.

Constable Ryan Anderson, Media Relations Officer for Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) told insauga that on Aug. 6 at approximately 11:20 a.m., police were called to the site at Regional Rd. 25 after receiving a call about a grenade being located by an employee inside a large recycling bin.

Anderson said police attended, confirmed the grenade and established a safe zone around the bin.

The HRPS Explosives Disposal Unit also attended and after an investigation, determined the grenade to be a training device and deemed it to be inert.
