Police investigating theft of $8,000 worth of copper from Milton business

Halton police are investigating after thousands of dollars worth of copper were stolen from a business in Campbellville.

Police say the incident occurred on Oct. 2 between 10:00 p.m. and midnight at Moffatt Scrap Iron & Metal Inc.

According to Constable Steve Elms, Media Relations Officer for Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS), approximately $8,000 worth of copper was stolen which included various pieces.

Elms also confirmed that the copper was being stored in a bin on the premise and that a hole was cut in the fence to gain access to the property.

According to police, the suspect is described as a male who was wearing a black vest.
