Police investigating sexual assault of child at Milton park

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit is investigating a sexual assault that recently took place in the Town of Milton.

Police say on Saturday, Oct. 2, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a young female child was playing at Raspberry Park, located on Raspberry Terrace.

According to police, while playing in the park, an older male child/youth touched her in a sexual manner.

Police say the suspect and victim are not known to one another.

No descriptions will be provided in regards to this incident as the Youth Criminal Justice Act precludes police from releasing any photographs or descriptors of youth including suspects.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the older male child/youth and are asking anyone with video footage of the area, who witnessed the assault or was at or near the park at that time to contact D/Cst. Erin J. Toth of the Child Abuse and Sexual Assault unit at 905 825 4777 ext. 8972.
