Police investigating as body pulled from Lake Ontario in St. Catharines

St. Catharines Hydro employees made a gruesome discovery yesterday (May 4) morning, finding a dead body in the water at Port Dalhousie.

Niagara Police were called to the scene in Port Dalhousie at 8:20 am when the workers found the body near Heywood Generating Station.

The police from the District 1 station in St. Catharines have released no details regarding the body, other than they were assisted by the forensic services and marine units.

Presently, the body is in the coroner’s office undergoing a post-mortem examination and positive identification. There has been no indication of the person’s gender or approximate age.

The investigation will continue.
