Police investigating after dead body located in Mississauga

A police investigation into the body of a deceased male is currently underway.

Police say the body was found in the area of Matthews Gate and Hurontario Street, south of Burnhamthorpe.

Officers got the call at 11:48 a.m. this morning.

The cirumstances of death are currently unknown, police say.

Hurontario is blocked southbound at Burnhamthorpe and northbound at Elm Drive as the investigation continues.

Residents are asked to avoid the area and plan alternate routes.
