Police investigating after body found near Hamilton park

The Hamilton Police Service (HPS) is seeking the public’s help in their investigation of the “sudden death” of a local man who was found Friday (June 25) morning in the area of Carter Park.

Shortly after 10:30 a.m., police responded to the area of Victoria Ave South and Young Street where the body of a 38-year-old was located.

Police say the body was found in “a wooded area.”

The family of the deceased has been notified, according to police. However, the name of the individual has not been released.

“Cause of death is currently not known and no further details can be released,” said HPS. “A further update will be provided when information becomes available.”

Police are looking to speak to anyone who was in the area of Carter Park between 11:00 p.m. on June 24 and 10 a.m. on June 25.
