Police seek the public’s assistance after a woman driving a pickup truck reportedly approached a teen and tried to get her in the truck.

The Black GMC pickup truck with a crew cab was spotted in the Mead Avenue and Tate Avenue area of the east end of Hamilton between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 9, Hamilton Police Service said in a press release on April 21.

The mother of a teenager reported that her daughter was approached by the woman in a pickup truck, a Hamilton Police spokesperson tells inthehammer.com.

“The female was said to have attempted to try to talk the teenager into walking towards and entering her truck,” the spokesperson said.

“When the teenager began to reach for her phone the female fled the area in her vehicle.”

The driver is described as a white woman in her late 20s or early 30s. She has a thin build, freckles, black hair and blue eyes.

Police have been canvassing the area for surveillance and speaking with witnesses. They were able to obtain a photo of the truck.
