Police investigate shooting incident in east Hamilton

Hamilton Police are investigating a shooting incident that took place in east Hamilton on Friday (Sept. 3).

Police said they were called shortly after 8:30 p.m. Friday to reports of a shooting in the Oriole Crescent neighbourhood.

A man and a woman were reportedly in the backyard of a home when a man stepped out of a nearby dark gold-coloured SUV and walked towards the pair.

It’s alleged that the man then opened fire on the man and woman in the yard and multiple shots were fired. The man ran into the house and the woman ran away from the home.

No one was injured in the incident, police said.

“The motive for the shooting is still under investigation,” police said.

“The scene has since been processed and police are canvassing the area for any surveillance and witnesses.”
