A man from Puslinch has been arrested following an alleged sex asault on Burlington youth.

Halton police say that on June 10, a young male (under age 18) engaged in an online conversation with an older man where they agreed to meet up in the area of Headon Rd. and Palmer Dr. in Burlington.

Police alleged that during the encounter the youth was sexually assaulted in a nearby parking lot.

Shortly after the incident, police arrested 55-year-old Peter Eerhard of Puslinch. He has been charged with:

  • Sexual assault
  • Sexual interference
  • Breach of probation

Eerhard has been held in police custody pending a bail hearing.

Police are continuing their investigation and would like to hear from anyone with further information. The Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit at 905-825-4747 ext. 8970 can be contacted.

Meanwhile, police say sexual assault is defined as any touching of another person without their consent where the touching is of a sexual nature, or where the sexual integrity of the victim is violated.  A sexual assault can range from unwanted touching to sexual assault involving penetration.

There is no statute of limitation when it comes to reporting a sexual assault.  This means that no matter how long ago the sexual assault happened, it can still report to police for investigation.

Peter Eerhard has been charged
