Police Identify Woman Killed In Hit And Run In Mississauga

Police have identified the pedestrian involved in the hit and run incident this evening.
Rafaela Piedrasanta, a 75-year-old woman from Mississauga, was hit by a car on Sorrento Drive and Elia Avenue.
The vehicle failed to remain at the scene. The vehicle is described as a white 4-door pickup truck with a white box in the back. Only half the license plate was visibly shown. The license plate contains “AV2.”
The police received the call at 5:10 p.m.
Piedrasanta was transported to the local hospital around 5:30 p.m. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Sorrento Drive and Elia Avenue remain closed for investigation by the Major Collision Bureau.
