Police identify victim of suspicious death in Pickering

Investigators have confirmed the identity of the 20-year-old victim whose recent death in Pickering was deemed suspicious.

Around noon on Thursday, May 19, members of West Division responded to a vehicle collision near Taunton Road and Concession Road 4.

“A male was located with obvious signs of trauma and was pronounced deceased on scene,” said police.

According to police, a post mortem was conducted and the cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound.

The victim has been identified as 20 year old Pickering man Arawin Sapesan.

The investigation is still ongoing and police are appealing to the public for assistance, including anyone who may have dashcam video in the area of Taunton Road and Brock Road in Pickering between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. that day.
