Police Identify Man Killed in Fatal Crash with Bus in Mississauga

Police are looking for witnesses following a fatal collision involving a bus in Mississauga.

Peel police say that on Friday, Nov. 9, 2018 at 12:15 a.m., a Mississauga Transit bus was stopped at a bus stop at Tomken Road and Bloor Street when it was rear-ended by a red Toyota Rav4 that was travelling along Bloor Street.

Police say the driver of the Toyota Rav4, 70-year-old Mississauga man Ricardo Reyes, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The passenger of the Rav4, 61-year-old Mississauga man Juliet Baptista, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a trauma centre.

At the time of the collision, there were five passengers on the bus.

Police say no bus passengers were seriously injured.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses, who may have seen the collision or have video footage of the incident to contact investigators with the Major Collision Bureau at (905) 453-2121, ext. 3710.
