Police hunt suspect after woman reports assault on Oakville GO train

Halton police are searching for the man they believe committed a sexual assault on the Oakville GO train.

According to the Halton police Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit, on Monday June 3, at about 12:15 am, a female was riding the GO train westbound from Toronto to Oakville.

A man intently watched the female, and repositioned himself closer to her multiple times. When the female attempted to exit the train at Bronte Station, the male grabbed her and a brief struggle ensued before the female broke free and departed.

The female did not suffer any physical injuries.

The male suspect is 25-35 years old, light brown complexion, black hair, black goatee, wearing blue jogging pants, a black Puma hooded sweatshirt, and white New Balance high-top shoes.

Sexual assault is any touching of another person without their consent where the touching is of a sexual nature, or where the sexual integrity of the victim is violated. A sexual assault can range from unwanted touching to sexual assault involving penetration.

There is no statute of limitation when it comes to reporting a sexual assault. This means that no matter how long ago the sexual assault happened, you can still report it to police for investigation.
