Four main emergency agencies from the region will be participating in the exercise including Peel Regional Police, Brampton Fire and Emergency Services, Peel Regional Paramedic Services and Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services.

The high school is located at 25 Corporation Dr. and the area is expected to see a heavy presence of emergency vehicles as the exercise proceeds. Minor traffic delays are possible.

Over 100 community volunteers have donated their time to act as role players for the event, designed to test existing procedures and identify areas for improvement.

Peel police say they thank the volunteers, along with the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board, for their support.

“An essential pillar of Peel Regional Police’s strategic plan is collaborating with our emergency response partners to hone our collective ability to respond to large-scale and complex emergencies,” police said.

Residents and businesses near the school can expect the exercise to continue until 3 p.m. today (Oct. 1).
