Police have identified suspect involved in St. Catharines stabbing

While one suspect still remains on the run, Niagara Police have identified the man arrested in this morning’s (September 16) knife attack at a home on Forster St in St. Catharines.

Micheal David Mulligan, 22, of no fixed address has been charged with break-and-enter, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, pointing a firearm, disguised with intent and failure to comply with his probation order.

He was held in custody to attend a video bail hearing at the courthouse in St. Catharines today.

Wearing a full ski-mask, he allegedly broken into the Forster St. house, stabbing one man before he was restrained and disarmed by people inside and held until police arrived.

The victim was whisked to an out-of-town hospital by EMS and is expected to survive.

The second man, who had a shotgun, is still on the run. He is is described as a five-foot-six white male in his early to mid-twenties. He has an athletic build and was wearing a ski mask with eye holes, a dark jacket with yellow reflectors on the shoulder, dark jeans, latex gloves, and shoes “similar to Nike Air Jordans.”

Police are asking anyone (residents or businesses) in the area with closed circuit security cameras, doorbell video cameras, or dash cameras are asked to review their footage for suspicious activity for the period between 12:30am and 2:30am on September 16,.
