Police find variety of drugs in Ajax Good Friday raid

Two people were arrested Good Friday on drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop in Whitby, which led to a police raid at an Ajax home where officers found numerous drugs.

The pair, a man and a woman, were stopped in Whitby on April 15 and arrested on scene. Officers later executed a search warrant at a home in Ajax where police say they found an unspecified amount of  cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine and cash.

Anojh Gunentherathas, 23 of Ajax, faces a variety of charges including trafficking fentanyl and six counts of possession for trafficking. He will remain custody until a bail hearing.

Filomena Azzarello, 27 of Whitby, was charged with three counts of possession for trafficking. She was released from custody with conditions.
