Police confirm Pickering-area shooting

Durham Police say officers have responded to a shooting near Liverpool Road and Highway 401 in Pickering.
A tweet from Durham Regional Police Service says they received a report of a disturbance near Valley Farm Road, north of Highway 401, around 4 p.m.. A shooting victim was found with serious injuries, but they are not considered potentially fatal.
“Gun shots were heard and a victim was discovered and taken to Toronto hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries,” DRPS said, attacking that canine and air patrols are assisting.
No suspect(s) information was immediately available.
