Police chase through east Oshawa leads to two arrests

Two people face charges after a brief chase through Oshawa early this morning.
Durham Regional Police said their officers found a stolen car near Wilson Rd. and Shakespeare Ave. around 2 a.m. on January 9. Police tried to stop the car, resulting in a short pursuit.
Eventually, the pair abandoned the car and tried to run away. However, the officers quickly arrested the two without further incident. No one was injured.
An Oshawa man, 39, was charged with fleeing police, dangerous driving and possession of stolen property. A Whitby woman, 33, is charged with obstruction, possession of cocaine and possession of stolen property.
